SPANISH RAIL CONSORTIUM SIGNS SAUDI CONTRACT

Saudi Arabia signed an 30,8 billlion riyal ($8,2 billion) contract with a Spanish Consortium for the next phase of a high-speed train linking the Isalamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina to the national railway line. The Saudi Railways Organization awarded the contract for the Haramain project's second phase last year to the Spanish consortium Al Shoula. The consortium includes RENFE, ADIF, Consultrans, Imathia, OHL, Indra, Dimetronic, TALGO, Copasa, Cobra, INECO and Inabensa.
